ORA Reading Group (with Arlington NAACP) Richard Rothstein. The Color of Law: A Forgotten History of How Our Government Segregated America

Please join NAACP-Arlington on Monday, April 30 at 7:00 p.m. at the Walter Reed Community Center (Conference Room) to discuss Richard Rothstein's The Color Of Law: A Forgotten History Of How Our Government Segregated America.

In The Color of Law, Rothstein argues that residential racial segregation in the U.S. is not the result of decisions by private institutions or individuals but the direct result of racially explicit government laws and policies ― including discriminatory zoning ― at the local, state, and federal levels. The Color of Law is the story of present-day America in all its municipalities, large and small, liberal and reactionary.

Mr. Rothstein will be coming to Arlington on May 3rd to talk about his book at the Central Library's auditorium from 7-9 p.m. See here for more details: https://arlingtonva.libcal.com/event/3386247?_ga=2.263215690.797600055.1521770963-145809282.1520006859
